A dynamic alert is created on the trend lines or indicators and notifies you whenever the price breaks through, touches, or bounces off of a trend line or indicator. In this documentation, we will explore the steps to create Dynamic Alerts
Let’s get started 🚀
Step 1: Right-click on any trend line or indicator and select- Click Create Alert At This Line or Create Alert At This Drawing.
A modal window will appear on the interface providing you with multiple options to configure and create the Dynamic Price Alert.
Step 2: Select any one of the following three triggers: Break Through, Touch, or Bounce.
For more information on Triggers, please refer to the documentation on Trigger Conditions.
Step 3: Set the desired Sensitivity to increase or decrease the buffer zone around the trendline or indicator at which you want to be alerted at.
Step 4: Choose the Confirmation Candles to confirm which time frame you want to be alerted on. For example, selecting a confirmation on the 10-minute candle means whenever the 10-minute candle closes anywhere within the sensitivity area of the trendline or indicator, you will be alerted.
Different options to choose the confirmation candles become available based on the time frame you have selected to view on the chart:
Time frame on Chart | Confirmation Candles Available |
---|---|
1 min to 4 min | Creating alerts at this resolution is not supported yet |
5 min to 4 Hours | 5 min to 4 Hours |
Session | 10 min to 4 Hours, Session, and Daily |
Daily | 30 min to 4 Hours, Session, and Daily |
Weekly | 4 hours, Session, and Daily |
Monthly | 4 hours, Session, and Daily |
You can also enable Extended Market Hours to tell the system whether or not to incorporate data from extended sessions when calculating indicators for the purposes of calculating your alert conditions. Checking the extended hours also unlocks the option for you to tell the system when to check alerts by making a selection through- “Fire During”
For more information, please refer to the documentation on- Extended Hours Support in Multi-Factor and Dynamic Price Alerts
Step 5: Enter a Name for your Alert.
The name entered is displayed on the charts and in notifications. The symbol name is appended automatically.
Step 6: Enter a suitable description for your Alert in the Notes.
The description entered in the notes is displayed in the notification and reminds you of the action to be performed for the symbol. This is useful when you have created multiple alerts.
You can also define the notes in JSON code which is then sent as part of alert triggers if the trader has configured the webhook from the Account & Settings.
For more information, please refer to the documentation on- Webhooks
Step 7: Set the Expiration for the alert by configuring the following two conditions:
- How long do you want the alert to stay active
- How many times do you want the alert to go off
The alert will be canceled when any of the above two conditions are fulfilled.
Step 8: Click Create Alert and it will be added to the Alerts widget in the right sidebar.
